After being shoulder to shoulder with 50 yards to go, Ella Rhoades was edged out in a sprint to the finish at the OHSAA D-III Regional Cross Country meet by Morgan Wiechman from Port Clinton and earned the Regional Runner-up title. Ella's time was 18:08.23 while Wiechman finished in 18:07.42. Both have qualified for the state meet on Saturday.

Other Wauseon girls who competed included Emmerie Rodriguez (99th), Kylee Smith (107th) and Peyton Richer (133rd).

In the boys regional race, Clay Wasnich finished in 16:33.81 to place 10th and advance to state as well. The boys team finished 12th overall. Also scoring for the Indians were Wyatt Medina (55th), Alejandro Aranjo (71st), Carter St. John (113th), and Tristan Pena (137th).
