Senior Ella Rhoades ran the course at Fortress Obetz in Columbus in 18:20.22 to finish 3rd at the OHSAA D-III State Cross Country Championship. Ella was in the lead pack of 10 runners early in the race at the 400 meter mark and then separated herself along with four other runners by 1600 meters. She was in 2nd place at 3200 meters and then closed out the race in 3rd, 4 seconds ahead of the 4th place runner. Ella closes out a fantastic WHS cross country career near the top of the OHSAA podium.

Clay Wasnich finished in the top half of the runners in the boys D-III race. Clay was caught in a crowd early in the race but proceeded to pass 42 other runners over the last couple of miles to finish strong with a time of 16:59.87.
